No. 1 Bulldogs to host No. 5 Fresno City in Northern California semifinals

SAN MATEO – After a two-week wait, College of San Mateo will finally make its return to the field when the top-seeded Bulldogs host No. 5 Fresno City College in the Northern California Regional Playoffs semifinals. The postseason matchup is set for noon at CSM's College Heights Stadium.

Tickets for the regional playoff game are available online at the 3C2A Tickets Page. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE GATE. Ticket prices are as follows:

General Admission - $16
Non-CSM Students with Student ID - $11
Seniors/Children/Veterans - $11
(Senior 65+, Children 5-18 years old and Veterans must show valid ID at the gate)

The game will be broadcast live for free at BAOSN.net. Live play-by-play stats will also be available online at the CSM Bulldogs Athletics website.

The defending state champion Bulldogs were last in action on Nov. 8 when they closed out the regular season with a 52-20 rout of Laney College. San Mateo surged to a 9-1 overall record and captured its fourth straight Bay 6 League championship.

With a new six-team playoff format this season, San Mateo earned a first-round bye as one of the North region's top-two seeds.

No. 5 Fresno City advanced to Saturday's semifinal with a 56-38 victory at No. 4 City College of San Francisco last week. The Rams bring a 7-4 overall record into this week's contest.

CSM and Fresno City are meeting for the second time this season. Earlier in the year, the Bulldogs came out on top in a Week 5 non-league battle in Fresno, winning by a final score of 23-14.

The winner of Saturday's matchup advances to the Northern California championship final on Dec. 6 at the site of the higher seed. In Saturday's other semifinal, No. 2 Modesto Junior College hosts No. 3 Diablo Valley College at 1 p.m.

Playoff matchups in the Southern California region include No. 3 Mt. San Antonio College at No. 2 Saddleback College and No. 4 Ventura College at No. 1 Golden West College. The Southern California champion will host the 3C2A State Championship on Dec. 13. | 3C2A Playoffs Bracket
