Mike Marcial will begin his 8th year as the head coach of the College of San Mateo Men’s Basketball program in 2025.

After a 36-year hiatus, the CSM Men’s Basketball program took the floor for the Bulldogs during the 2019-2020 season. Marcial led the Bulldogs to a 14-14 overall regular-season record and to a CCCAA Northern California Regional playoff berth. The Bulldogs finished third place in the Coast-North Conference, beat two state-ranked teams, and finished in the state’s top ten in transition points during the regular season.

Following the Bulldogs’ first season back into CCCAA competition, Marcial’s Bulldogs finished in third place in the Coast-North Conference three out of five years, and secured CCCAA NorCal Regional Playoff four out of five seasons since the program was restored. Additionally, Marcial has mentored 11 All-Conference Coast-North Selections, three Academic All-State awardees, eighteen AA Degree Graduates, and matriculated eighteen CSM Bulldogs. Twelve former CSM Bulldogs have received athletic scholarships to all levels of four-year basketball, from NCAA Division 1 to NAIA. Five Bulldogs will suit up for four-year institutions during the 2025-26 season.

Marcial received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Sacramento State and attained his master’s in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University in 2012.
