Dorn takes first, Kerseg third to lead CSM at Modesto Invitational
MODESTO – Sophomore Ericka Dorn ran a season-best 18:41.7 to finish in first place in the women's 5K event at the Modesto Junior College Pirate Invitational on Friday. The meet was held at Tuolumne River Regional Park.
Dorn was followed by teammate Deia Kerseg-Foreman in third place as she cleared the course with her time of 18:48.3. Lina Cruz Padilla rounded out the Bulldogs' trio that medaled, finish in 14th place with a time of 20:04.1.
On the men's side, CSM totaled 200 points to end in eighth place in the final standings.
Mariano Beas led the Bulldog men with his time of 21:45.4 on the four-mile course to take 38th place overall. He was joined in the top 50 by Nathan Loof in 46th place (22:00.2) and Colin Williams in 49th (22:15.8).

Both the CSM men and women will be back in action next Friday (Oct. 3) when they will compete at the Hartnell College Pink in the Park race. The event will be held at Toro Park in Salinas.
